relaxing sensory experience. Mentoring/coaching to establish a Sit Spot practice is provided to support individuals who want a

deeper connection to nature. Nature and Forest Therapy Walks and Sit Spot mentoring are not a substitute for professional

mental health therapy, medical care, or psychiatric treatment. We do not diagnose or treat medical or psychological

 conditions.

2. Eligibility, Booking, and Rescheduling

By using our service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age. We require at least 24 hours' notice for rescheduling or cancellations. Sessions canceled with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a fee.If inclement weather or other event forces the cancellation of a Nature and Forest Therapy walk, participants may reschedule or receive a full refund.

3. Payments and Responsibilities

All payments are due at the time of booking. A successful walk experience requires active commitment and participation; you agree to be honest and responsible for decisions made during the process. We provide no guarantees of specific outcomes.

Nature Walk participants are responsible for following all the rules and regulations given by the owners of the land on which the walk occurs. Specific rules and regulations will be provided to the participant via the confirmation email from the Nature Walk guide. Participants who refuse to comply with the landowners' rules/regulations must leave the walk. Participants are free to leave a Nature and Forest Therapy walk at any point during the walk and are responsible for letting the Guide know that they are leaving the walk.

Participants bring the following items for their personal use on a nature walk:

  • Bottled water for drinking during the walk

  • Snack, if you need to eat something before the walk ends (granola bar, etc.)

  • Insect Repellent

  • Hat/Cap

  • Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes

  • Optional: Beach-type towel in case you want to lay or sit on the ground during the walk.

4. How We Will Communicate with You

  • Email from Phaedra@naturewalkstowellness.org: Pre-walk information you need 24+ hours prior to the walk. Be sure to check your SPAM or Junk folder if you haven't added me to your contacts. Please do add me to your contacts.

  • Text Message: Urgent information such as canceling the walk due to an emergency situation or severe weather warning

5. Parameters We Follow For Canceling Walks

We will cancel walks in cases of:

  • Rain

    • Heavy downpour rain and thunderstorms (lightning risk)

    • Persistent cold rain with low temperatures (risk of hypothermia)

    • Thunderstorms/Severe Weather (if thunder is heard, the walk will be canceled, even if the walk is already in progress).

  • Wind

    • High winds that could bring down branches, especially in forests with old trees and in times when there has been heavy rainfall before the winds. (This loosens the soil and the root system of the trees-unstable).

  • Cold and Snow

    • Wind chills approaching or below freezing

    • Ice storms, freezing rain, or unsafe travel conditions

  • Heat

    • Temperatures 90 degrees F and above are forecast for the hours of the walk.

  • Air Quality and Other

    • Wildfire smoke or other hazard makes air quality poor

    • Heavy pollution, volcanic ash, or other hazardous atmospheric conditions

    • Trail closures, unsafe roads, or high-risk wildlife alerts

    • Sickness/Sudden Events affecting the guide's ability to facilitate the walk.

We monitor WSB-TV (Atlanta) and the National Weather Service for information on weather & other alerts for our area. You will be contacted by text message if we cancel a walk. IF WSB-TV OR THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A WEATHER “WARNING” FOR THE AREA OF OUR WALK, YOU SHOULD CONSIDER THE WALK CANCELED. (see #2 above regarding rescheduling/refund).
